Holiday flats

Investing in holiday homes or flats has been growing in popularity for several years. While holiday homes used to be purchased primarily to spend their holidays there themselves, the focus of prospective buyers has now shifted. Just a few years ago, it hardly mattered to buyers whether the property could also be rented out for other purposes. Today, on the other hand, a holiday home is primarily a secure capital investment.

When looking for a suitable property, you should therefore no longer choose according to your own preferences, but according to specific criteria. The better the location and furnishings of a property, the more weeks a year it can be let. Calculations by the IVD estate agents’ association show that a flat must be let for an average of seventeen weeks to be profitable. An appropriately located holiday property easily exceeds this time. Flats let via the Fewo Direkt portal, for example, are let for an average of 23 weeks per year.

Whether it’s the North Sea or the Baltic Sea, the Alps or the Black Forest, Germans particularly enjoy spending their holidays here and are prepared to pay a little more if the location is convincing.
